The exuberant nature of the protected area and its state of conservation make it an ideal place for scientific research. Additionally, as in all the parks with ecotourism, education institutions carry out environmental education activities in the park, as do the park rangers who speak to the visitors about the Park, its conservation objectives and ecotourism services and activities.

Colombia is the country with the most bird species in the world, which is why it is a touristic destination for amateur and professional bird watchers. Over 60 species of birds have been recorded for the Park, 31 of which are marine birds such as cormorants, seagulls, frigate birds and pelicans. There are also colonies of herons and ibis.

Lagoon complexes, rivers and the Caribbean Sea converge in the protected area and produce a combination of fresh water and seawater creating landscapes and habitats for numerous species to admire and contemplate. It is a migration corridor for sea turtles such as the leatherback, loggerhead, Hawksbill and Green sea turtles.

Since it is mainly a marine environment, the trails are in the zone of influence of the Park, in the mainland. There are several trails, which can be done with qualified tour operators and guides that will allow you to better understand the natural and cultural values of the zone.

The scenic beauty of Corales del Rosario y de San Bernardo NNP make it an ideal place for this activity, although, if the photos or video are intended for commercial use or publication, a permit must be obtained from Parques Nacionales Naturales.
