A thick tropical forest covers 85% of the Park. The Park has 46 species of moss, 83 of lichens, 43 of liverworts, 85 of marine macro algae and 508 species of herbaceous plants recorded. Similarly, peculiarities such as the Colombian pine (Podocarpus guatemalensis) which is usually found in the mainland in cloud forests at altitudes superior to those in the Park, and a species of aguacatillo (Caryodaphnopsis theobromifolia) which has globally been reported in Gorgona and the Palenque river in Ecuador.
